“Be aggressive” in offseason: Micah Parsons makes ‘call to action’ for the Dallas Cowboys | NFL News

Cowboys’ Micah Parsons is pushing Dallas to be more aggressive in free agency this offseason. Recently Parsons asked the Cowboys to make good on COO Stephen Jones’ word so that Dallas can evaluate the free agency approach.
“Want to bring back our own players,” Nick Harris sites Micah Parsons take
As per Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Parsons said, “I don’t want to sit back and watch other [teams] build and build and us stay the same.”
“Definitely some call to action. I want to see us become aggressive and get some players that will come in and make an impact. I want to see us bring back our own players, that’s just as important. Let’s see what we can do there,” Micah Parsons added.
Sources say that Parsons had earlier campaigned for the Cowboys and re-signed the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett as well as defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa. Parsons is the only first player who has made 12 sacks in the first four seasons in the league.
Despite suffering from an ankle injury, Parsons has played 13 games in 2024. Considered one of the big hits of all time, he reeled in 43 tackles, 46 pressures, 23 quarterback hits, 12 sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Earlier in the month of January Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones suggested that the team must re-evaluate their look at free agency. The statement was given during Brian Schottenheimer’s press conference.
While speaking to the media Jones said, “Certainly we’ll do a real deep dive on putting some personnel together whether it be through the draft, free agency.”
“I know typically that’s not been the way we’ve done this team, but we’ll certainly look at it. … We’re going to take a long hard look at how we’ve looked at free agency. And if we need to change some things there, we will,” Jones added.
When the situation remained unsettled, the Cowboys looked to bounce back soon. It must be noted that Parsons has asked the Cowboys to focus on making external upgrades and retaining some of their known free agents.
