Soft drink spiked with sedatives, teen gang-raped in Kolkata; 2 held | India News
KOLKATA: Just three days before Valentine’s Day, a 17-year-old girl was allegedly drugged and gang-raped by two men in Beniapukur area near Kolkata’s Park Circus on Tuesday. The accused also video-recorded the assault on their cell phones and attempted to blackmail the victim. Within hours of her complaint, police arrested the duo based on technical leads.
Cops said the minor knew one of the accused, who pretended to be in a relationship with her. “The prime accused lured her to the second accused’s house on the pretext of celebrating ‘Promise Day’. He told her that they should promise to stay together in the presence of a friend. There, he allegedly spiked her soft drink with sedatives,” a senior officer from Beniapukur PS said, quoting the girl.
