She said, “I’ve had a lot of interviewers sit across from me and say, ‘Oh, so you left work?’ And I’m like, I didn’t leave work, I just did different work. The kind of work changed, but the work itself never stopped. That work continues every single day. I’ve been a mother for 22 years now, and it’s a daily job that I take very, very seriously.
