Shah Rukh Khan shoots for King in Mumbai; filming action-packed jail sequence: Details Inside

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is back on the film sets and doing what he does best – shooting high-octane action sequences. The superstar has reportedly kicked off filming a major action sequence for his upcoming film ‘King’, at Mehboob Studios in Bandra. After being spotted rocking different looks around town, the actor reportedly returned to the sets to shoot a gritty jail fight sequence. According to a report on Mid-Day, the actor began shooting the action portions on Monday, with filming expected to continue until June 21.“The scene is set in a foreign jail, where the protagonist takes on a gang of baddies,” revealed a source close to the production. This is said to be a pivotal part of the narrative, for which director Siddharth Anand has brought in three international stunt experts to choreograph the routine. As part of the shoot, the team also reportedly shot a scene involving nearly 200 stunt performers. While reports remain unclear whether SRK will play an underworld kingpin or an assassin, it has been confirmed that he has undergone extensive training before stepping into the role. This will reportedly be a raw, intense and deliberate departure from his previous action-packed roles. “The stunts are unlike anything he’s done before in Pathaan or Jawan. Siddharth is aiming for a grittier, more grounded action style,” a source told the portal. While Shah Rukh leads the current schedule, Abhishek Bachchan — who plays the antagonist — is not part of this leg of filming.Reports previously stated that SRK and the team would begin shooting in early June, however, owing to some delays, the shoot moved forward with Suhana Khan and Abhay Verma taking the lead with their schedule. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film marks the first on-screen pairing of Shah Rukh with daughter Suhana. Although the actress made her film debut with ‘The Archies’, this will be her first theatrical release.
