Amid unrest in California’s largest city, China on Monday advised its citizens in Los Angeles to stay vigilant and prioritise their security amid ongoing law enforcement actions targeting immigration-related protests. Chinese consulate in Los Angeles, in a statement, told its citizens, “to closely monitor official announcements and media reports, stay highly vigilant, strengthen safety precautions, avoid gathering sites, crowded areas, or locations with poor public security.”It also asked the Chinese citizens to avoid “going out at night or travelling alone.” This advisory from China comes as US President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles to control immigration protests. At least 44 people were arrested during demonstrations. Over the weekend, law enforcement officials used tear gas and flashbang grenades to control protestors. The US president in a sharp attack, accused local officials of failing to control unrest. Taking to his Truth Social platform, Trump pledged federal intervention to “solve the problem, RIOTS & LOOTERS, the way it should be solved!!!.” Earlier on Sunday, around 300 national guard troops arrived in Los Angeles. However, LA mayor Karen Bass said that troops had not yet deployed within the city earlier Sunday.60 people arrested The San Francisco police on late Sunday (local time) said that they have arrested around 60 people after demonstrators in the northern California gathered to protest against President Donald Trump’s immigration raids.San Francisco police on X said, “approximately 60 people were arrested, including juveniles.”
