MNS leader Pramod Patil slams Maharashtra govt over delay in Palava Rail Over Bridge (ROB) | Thane News

KALYAN: The former Maharashtra Navnirman Sena MLA, Pramod (Raju) Patil, while targeting the state govt over the delay in the Palava Rail Over Bridge (ROB), said that the work of the flyover for the dedicated freight corridor at Nilje railway near Palava was completed on time by the railway and opened for traffic.
However, the work of the Palava ROB, which started in 2018, is still incomplete.
Patil said, if the Nilje ROB for dedicated freight corridor can be completed on time, then what is the exact reason behind the delay in the Palava ROB?.
Patil stated, “Tata Projects Private Limited completed the work of Nilje Bridge under the Dedicated Freight Corridor Project. Traffic was closed for a few days for this work. However, due to very strict planning and efficient implementation, the work was completed on time.”
However, in the backdrop of this successful project, Patil raised a question mark over the stalled work of the Palava ROB. Patil said, “This work, which has been going on since 2018, has not been completed yet. In this regard, he said, ‘If such a big work can be done on a busy route in time, then how did the issue of Palava ROB take so long? What is the political or economic calculation behind this?'”
Raju Patil alleged that the coffers of MMRDA and MSRDC have become empty. Due to this, the bills of the contractors are pending. Consequently, the work of the Palava ROB has not been completed yet.
Patil also claimed that the work for Palava ROB is being given to shell companies of ruling party leaders’ close associates, avoiding renowned companies like Tata or L&T. Due to this, there is no pressure on the contractors, and the work is getting delayed, he also alleged.
