Kendrick Perkins said on NBA Today on ESPN, “Let’s talk about SGA. The greatest Thunder of all-time. He already joined the company of Michael Jordan this year – three consecutive seasons of 30 [points per game], shooting over 50 percent, now he’s hoisting up the MVP trophy, and now he’s on his way to going to the NBA Finals and he’s going to win an NBA championship, and he’s going to become Finals MVP.”As a video of Perkins’ comment was shared on X with the question of whether others agree, one fan responded, “Come on Kendrick. Russell Westbrook averaged a triple double 3 straight seasons with OKC. But there will be an argument to be made for SGA if they win a championship.” Another said, “They just can’t prop up Shai without bringing the ones who came before him down it’s pathetic.” One more commented, “Russ & Harden are up there too.What they did is the reason OKC is the way it is today.”However, many noted that if Alexander wins a championship, Perkins’ claim could gain more validity. “If he wins the title I’d say he has a great case,” read one of many similar comments.
