Mohanlal starrer 'Thudarum' to have a delayed OTT release due to high footfall in theatres- Report

Mohanlal-starrer ‘Thudarum’ has been winning hearts, and the movie has become a box office hit, grossing over Rs 250 crore globally. The film’s box office collection is reportedly showing no signs of slowing down, even weeks after its grand release on April 25, 2025.Now, reports suggest that the film’s stellar performance may affect its OTT release date.‘Thudarum’ to have a late OTT release?According to 123 Telugu, Thudarum is now expected to arrive on OTT platforms later than the standard four-week window usually observed for most theatrical-to-OTT transitions. While no official date has been announced yet, the decision to delay the streaming release is believed to be driven by the film’s sustained box office momentum. However, no official confirmation has been made by the makers of the movie as of now.The planned re-release of Mohanlal’s classic hit ‘Chotta Mumbai’—which was scheduled to coincide with the actor’s birthday on May 21 2025—has reportedly been deferred to avoid clashing with ‘Thudarum’s ongoing theatrical run. Thudarum was released in Tamil on May 9 after receiving highly positive reviews.
