Jamal Adams had a poor 2024. He initially signed with the Tennessee Titans but played just three games before getting released. The Titans weren’t impressed enough with him to retain his services. Then Adams signed with the Detroit Lions, who were suffering from injuries to their secondary. Still, he couldn’t hold on to a spot. He played only two games before the Lions released him.It was a difficult fall for a player who once ruled the league as a stout safety. Missed opportunities and injuries have made it more difficult for Adams to establish himself. Adams recently expressed his sentiments on The Jets Lounge podcast. He stated, “I would love to be back with the Jets… that would be a dream come true.” Adams spent his first three seasons with the Jets and was the league’s best safety. He was the team’s No. 6 draft pick and an instant fan favorite. But he was dealt to Seattle before his fourth season.Now, at 28, Adams is content to play a reduced role. He would like to assist the young players, provide advice, and be a good backup in case of necessity. The Jets have safeties Tony Adams and Andre Cisco already, and they also picked up Malachi Moore. So there may not be an opening for a starting role.
