Bengaluru techie hit by car after refusing to buy cigarettes for man, dies | Bengaluru News

BENGALURU: A 29-year-old software professional was killed in Bengaluru following a minor argument over fetching cigarettes. The victim, identified as HN Sanjay from Vajarahalli was involved in a confrontation with a stranger at Vasanthapura Cross on Kanakapura Road. According to police reports, Sanjay was standing by the roadside smoking a cigarette with a friend when the accused approached in a car and asked him to buy a cigarette from a nearby vendor. Sanjay refused, sparking a verbal dispute. Later, as Sanjay and his friend Chetan were riding back to their office on a motorcycle, the accused allegedly rammed his car into their bike from behind. Sanjay sustained a serious head injury after falling off the bike and later died in hospital. Authorities have obtained CCTV footage of the incident and registered a murder case.
