When Shruti Haasan admitted to getting her nose fixed and fillers: ‘It hurt, but if I could make it prettier…’

Shruti Haasan, Kamal Haasan’s daughter and one of the leading actresses in the South Indian film industry, has always been vocal about her stance on cosmetic procedures. Over the years, she has undergone multiple enhancements and has never shied away from admitting it. In an old interview, she spoke about getting fillers and undergoing nose surgery.
In a past conversation on Hauterrfly’s show The Male Feminist, Shruti emphasised the importance of being honest about her experiences with cosmetic procedures. She openly acknowledged having fillers and fixing her nose, recounting how the latter was a necessity after an injury. She shared that when she entered the film industry, her nose had been broken, but many people assumed she was using a medical condition as an excuse for surgery. “I did get my nose fixed, and it was very obvious I got my nose fixed. My nose was broken and quite different before. I did my first film with my old nose, and then people were like, ‘She is just using the deviated septum excuse.’ No, I did have a deviated septum. It hurt, but if I could make it prettier, it’s my face,” she added.

She also addressed the criticism she faced for using fillers. During the interview, Shruti confidently admitted to getting them and made it clear that if she ever decided to undergo a facelift in the future, it would be entirely her decision.
The Salaar actress confidently asserted that her body is her own, and she respects individual choices regarding cosmetic procedures. She clarified that she neither promotes nor discourages such treatments, emphasising that people should do what they feel is right for themselves. She urged others to let her focus on her work instead of scrutinising her decisions.
When asked how she developed such an unapologetic attitude, Shruti revealed that she had often been told she did not have the typical heroine-like appearance. Some even commented that she looked more foreign than Indian, making her question societal beauty standards. However, she never let such remarks affect her self-image and remained focused on her individuality.
