NEW DELHI: The Grand Finale of the Aditya Birla Memorial Polo Cup 2025 ended in dramatic fashion as the Rajnigandha Achievers claimed victory over Jindal Panther in a fiercely fought match that kept spectators hooked until the final whistle.
The winning team—Dino Dhankhar, Shamsheer Ali, Abhimanyu Pathak, and Bk Mr Daniel Otamendi—lifted the coveted trophy, bringing the curtain down on India’s premier polo tournament.
The trophy presentation was led by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, alongside Rajashree Birla, chairperson of The Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiative and Rural Development, and Askaran Agarwala, group advisor, Birla Group Trusts and special community projects.
The tournament, which featured three teams including Cavalry Royal Enfield, saw participation from both Indian and international players. The runners-up, Jindal Panther, were led by industrialist Naveen Jindal, with team members Hurr Ali, Kuldeep Singh Rathore, and JP Clarkin.
“This prestigious event honors the late Shri Aditya Vikram Birla’s deep passion for horse riding and polo and was created to celebrate his love for the sport,” the organisers said.
The tournament was launched in 2018 by the Aditya Birla Group in partnership with the Amateur Riders Club and has since grown into a key fixture on the Indian polo calendar, drawing top-tier talent from India and abroad.
The 2025 edition featured three competing teams—Jindal Panther, Rajnigandha Achievers, and Cavalry Royal Enfield. Jindal Panther, led by Naveen Jindal and supported by Hurr Ali, Kuldeep Singh Rathore, and Bk Mr JP Clarkin, showed strong form but couldn’t overcome the final challenge.
Held in collaboration with the Army Polo & Riding Centre, New Delhi, this year’s championship continued its tradition of excellence and spectacle, with dignitaries, celebrities, and polo lovers turning out in large numbers to witness the showdown.
