City group to stage improv for World Theatre Day | Tamil Movie News

In celebration of World Theatre Day, the city is set to experience a unique and entertaining theatre show, The Improv Jam Session. “Hosted by The Little Theatre group, this exciting event will take place tomorrow (March 30) and will be a fun, dramatic, and interactive approach to theatre, blending learning with entertainment,” says Dr Rohini Rau, CEO of the theatre group.
She shares, “We’ve been performing theatre for young audiences, starting from two-year-olds, since 1991. We also conduct workshops for children between five and 15 years old. The Improv Jam Session will be an opportunity for our alumni and the entire theatre community to come together, while also introducing new audiences to improv – spontaneous ensemble theatre where performers create theatre on the spot. Our actors are very skilled in improv, which is a wonderful technique that can be applied in real life. We thought it would be a fun experience for the young audiences of Chennai. The event will be hosted by Krishnakumar Balasubramanian, artistic director of our group.”
