3 dead after boiler explosion at Ghaziabad paper mill | Ghaziabad News

NEW DELHI: At least three workers die following a boiler explosion at a paper mill in Ghaziabad, police officials confirmed on Friday.
Local authorities promptly arrived at the manufacturing facility to assess the situation and implement emergency protocols.
The blast inflicted substantial damage to the mill’s infrastructure while claiming the lives of three workers.
A similar incident of boiler explosion occurred at Alwar-Bhiwadi Mega Highway-48.
A devastating boiler explosion occurred at the Sijwork ink manufacturing unit on March 17 along the Alwar-Bhiwadi Mega Highway-48, resulting in one fatality and one injury, whilst causing extensive damage to nearby residential areas.
The incident took place at approximately 3:30pm during the dismantling of an old boiler at the premises. Sheikh Jamshed, aged 32, a labourer from Patharia village, Jharkhand, lost his life in the accident.
The powerful explosion scattered boiler components across a 500-metre radius, inflicting considerable damage to neighbouring residential buildings. The impact resulted in a collapsed wall and broken windows in 10-12 houses.
The facility management reportedly locked the factory premises and did not inform the authorities about the accident. The incident was discovered only when Bhiwadi SP Jyeshtha Maitrei received intelligence inputs and sent Khushkheda station officer Hanuman Prasad Yadav to assess the situation.
According to local resident Akbar Khan, children playing in the vicinity had a close escape from falling metal debris.
The community has raised significant safety concerns about the facility, particularly in light of a major fire incident that occurred in April 2024.
