Mollywood superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal hold a special bond between them and this was reaffirmed recently through a prayer offering receipt from Sabarimala.
Social media had been abuzz with discussions claiming that Mohanlal had made an offering because Mammootty was facing some health issues. However, Mohanlal clarified that Mammootty is doing well and that concern is unnecessary.
Pooja offering receipt that went viral
Mohanlal visited Sabarimala after completing a rigorous ritual at Pampa and offered prayers to Lord Ayyappa. A receipt from the Usha Pooja offering, which had Muhammad Kutty, and Vishakham written on it, went viral. This act of Mohanlal’s, reportedly done for Mammootty’s well-being, was widely appreciated as a testament to their friendship, but it also fueled various speculations.
Mohanlal’s response
Days later, Mohanlal has now responded to the matter. Speaking at a press meet in Chennai as part of promotions for his upcoming film Empuraan, he stated, “He is doing well. He had a minor health issue, but that’s normal for everyone. There is nothing to worry about.” Mohanlal further emphasized that Mammootty is like a brother to him and questioned, “What’s wrong in praying for him?”
Offering prayers for someone is a personal matter
He reiterated that Mammootty is fine and that they share a close bond as brothers and friends. Mohanlal also pointed out that offering prayers for someone is a deeply personal matter and revealed that someone from the Devaswom Board had leaked the offering receipt.
‘Empuraan’ set for release
Mohanlal’s film Empuraan is set to release on March 27. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the second installment of ‘Lucifer’ has sky-high expectations among the audiences who are all eagerly waiting for the comeback of Mohanlal after a series of underwhelming films. ‘L2: Empuraan’ will have the ‘GOT’ actor Jerome Flynn in one of the lead roles.
