Esha Deol reveals she REJECTED ‘Golmaal’ and ‘Beedi Jalaile’ because of “family values” | Hindi Movie News

Esha Deol is reflecting on her career choices over the years and has made candid revelations about the decisions she now regrets.
During promotions for her upcoming film ‘Tumko Meri Kasam’, she revealed that she had turned down several significant film offers, which later achieved blockbuster status. In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Esha said, “There were a couple of very good films which I could have done, but I don’t know what I was thinking, and I said no to them. They went on to be big hits, which I could have had to my credit.”
Talking about her rejections arising from arrogance, Esha explained, “No, no, don’t make me sound that arrogant. I was very well-behaved, naïve, and a very innocent girl when I was working in films then. I was not arrogant like people think.”
She revealed that her past rejections were influenced by various factors, including scheduling conflicts and her own doubts about doing justice to certain roles. She also prioritized her family values, opting to steer clear of roles that made her feel uneasy.
“Some of them were date issues, sometimes I thought I won’t be able to justify the role. I was not comfortable doing some roles. I took certain decisions keeping my family values in mind as I didn’t want to offend some people. I had to keep many things in mind,” the actress stated.
The actress recalled her past decisions, revealing that she had turned down roles in the hit films ‘Golmaal‘ and ‘Omkara‘, where she was initially considered for the song “Beedi Jalaile,” which Bipasha Basu ultimately performed. “I think Bipasha has done a fantastic job,” she graciously noted. When questioned about any regrets over these missed opportunities, she candidly replied, “Of course, every actor would. 100 per cent bang your head against the wall.”
Esha has appeared in films like ‘No Entry’, ‘Dus’, and ‘Cash’, often in ensemble casts. After a period of less successful performances, she stepped away from mainstream cinema to turn her focus on her family life. She recently made appearances in digital projects and short films.
