‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ calls Elon Musk a Hero; dismisses US recession fears; says only people panicking are on …

Jordan Belfort, the infamous figure portrayed in Martin Scorsese’s film The Wolf of Wall Street, recently appeared on Fox & Friends, where he showered praise on DOGE chief Elon Musk, calling the world’s richest man a “Hero.” During the interview, Belfort enthusiastically promised the hosts that he would purchase a Tesla later that day. Co-host Brian Kilmeade responded, “Send us a picture of your purchase, we’ll put it on Monday.”
Belfort’s Fox News appearance focused on discussing US President Donald Trump‘s economic policies and alleviating concerns about a potential recession. When questioned about the stock market entering a correction due to the ongoing trade war, Belfort dismissed the panic, stating that “the only people panicking are on CNBC,” accusing them of trying to incite widespread fear. He defended Trump’s fluctuating tariffs, arguing that they would benefit the “long-term health of the economy” by bringing core manufacturing back to the United States, which he deemed “mission critical.”
A longtime Trump supporter, Belfort claimed that Americans would experience minimal discomfort throughout the president’s trade war, asserting that overseas companies would absorb much of the cost increases and ultimately lower prices due to reduced consumer demand for their goods and services.
I believe in reciprocal tariffs, declares Jordan Belfort
“Other countries have tariffs against us; it’s like everyone has been crying foul for the last 30 to 50 years. We’ve been taken advantage of by the whole world, and now President Trump, who I massively respect, is doing something very smart. I believe in reciprocal tariffs,” he proclaimed.
Belfort argued that Trump’s critics would find fault in his actions regardless of his approach, saying, “If he didn’t have tariffs, they would be saying, ‘How could he not be addressing tariffs?! He has to put tariffs on things. Everyone is taking advantage of us!’ Whatever he does, they’re gonna say they hate it. It’s the worst thing in the world, he’s destroying democracy, he’s a fascist. He’s a moron. Whatever he does! So just ignore it. It’s complete and utter nonsense.” He further commended Trump for “cutting spending, waste, and fraud” while ridiculing liberals for considering that a negative move.
He concluded the interview, crying out that Musk “is a Hero.”
