Veteran Pakistani actor Javed Sheikh, who is known for his work in Indian films like Jaan-E-Mann, Apne, Namastey London, and Om Shanti Om, recently opened up about an unpleasant experience while working with Emraan Hashmi in the 2008 film Jannat. In a recent interview, Sheikh revealed that he found Emraan cold and rude during their shoot and shared how he took ‘soft revenge’ on him.
Javed Sheikh appeared on a private TV channel’s Ramadan transmission, where he recalled an incident from his time in India while filming Jannat, which also starred Sonal Chauhan, Samir Kochhar and Vishal Malhotra. He explained that although Mahesh Bhatt had signed him for the project, he didn’t get the chance to meet Emraan Hashmi until the shoot began.
“Mahesh Bhatt was the producer and got a new director on board, Kunal, to direct the project. He explained the entire plot and everything to me when I signed the project, but I had not had an opportunity to meet Emraan Hashmi until then,” he said.
Javed Sheikh finally met Emraan in South Africa at Newlands Cricket Stadium, where the director introduced them. However, he was taken aback by Emraan’s cold attitude. The veteran actor recalled that when he extended his hand to greet Emraan, the latter shook it dismissively and quickly turned his face away. This behavior irked Javed, especially since Bollywood superstars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan had always treated him with respect.

“I tried to shake hands with him but noticed a very cold response from his side. He shook hands dismissively and turned his face away, which really irked me. I thought to myself, ‘Big stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Salman Khan respect me so much, and this young guy has this attitude. What does he think of himself?'” he recalled.
Javed Sheikh admitted that Emraan’s behavior hurt him so much that he decided to seek ‘soft revenge.’ Later, when the director asked him to go to Emraan for a rehearsal, he refused and instead demanded that Emraan come to him. The younger actor had no choice but to comply.

“When he (Emraan) came, I did the rehearsal but didn’t bother to even look at him. For the days to follow, when we completed the filming, I did not talk to him at all,” Javed said.
