When Amitabh Bachchan shared throwback pictures from the Holi bash at Prateeksha

On Thursday, a picture of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan from the Holika Dahan celebration took the internet by storm. The picture was shared by their daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda, and she was able to capture the picture-perfect moment on the camera. Speaking of picture perfect moments, Amitabh Bachchan also shared a few such beautiful memories last year when he gave a dose of nostalgia with the throwback pictures of Holi bash at Prateeksha.
Walking down the memory lane, last year Amitabh Bachchan shared glimpses of past celebrations with monochromatic pictures. Taking to his blog, he shared the photos of his wife Jaya and son Abhishek, which transported everyone back in time.
Seeing young Amitabh Bachchan in a white kurta beautifully messed with the hues of Holi, cradling a beaming Abhishek atop his shoulders, while Jaya Bachchan stood behind smiling is like a sight to sore eyes.

Sharing the pictures Amitabh Bachchan wrote – “Then .. and now. Greetings and wishes for Holi .. the happiness and the joy of everlasting colours of fulfilment and gaiety and merriment ..have lost count of the number of Holi celebrations at Prateeksha ..God has been kind…”
Amitabh Bachchan is one of the Bollywood stars who never misses to share festival greetings. Every year he shares one or the other post wishing his fans on auspicious days. Even during Covid-10 he shared a heartfelt message reminiscing the past Holi celebrations when time was lost immersed in joy.
“This threat of the virus and so many other have taken away the basics from our lives .. the freedom to express and mingle without fear .. with all .. friend or foe .. all .. came and spent the entire day on the lawns from early morning till the late hours of the night … and then the oil baths to remove the colours that remained as a reminder for days on end .. the gulal hair and hands and feet .. and just the smile of satisfaction,” he shared.
He added that during the pandemic things changed but the spirit remained intact. “Many celebrate still .. but at Prateeksha it has been quite a while .. deaths in the family .. conditions .. all have added to the reluctance .. but the spirit remains .. as have the rituals .. may you all bury your differences .. may there be tranquility and peace .. and the reason for the joy be multiplied each day among all .. HOLI HAI,” concluded Big B.
