‘Dragon’ box office collections day 20: Pradeep Ranganathan’s film collects Rs 94 crores | Tamil Movie News

Pradeep Ranganathan’s ‘Dragon’ continues its strong theatrical run, inching closer to the coveted Rs 100 crore mark. The Tamil film, which has been a major talking point in the industry, has garnered an estimated Rs 94 crore India net in just 20 days.
According to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk website, ‘Dragon’ collected approximately Rs 80 lakhs on its 20th day across all languages.
‘Dragon’ opened with Rs 6.5 crore on its first day and saw impressive growth over the weekend, peaking at Rs 12.75 crore on its first Sunday. The first-week collection stood at Rs 50.3 crore, with Tamil audiences contributing a major share. The second week saw a decline, with total earnings at Rs 31.9 crore, but Dragon managed to maintain a steady pace in its third week.
The film’s 20th-day occupancy rate in Tamil Nadu was recorded at 14.79%, with night and afternoon shows seeing the highest footfall at 16.15% and 16.25%, respectively. Dragon’s consistent collections highlight its strong audience pull, particularly in Tamil Nadu, where Pradeep Ranganathan has established himself as a major box-office draw.
While the collections have slowed in the third week, Dragon is well on its way to entering the Rs 100 crore club, earning a solid 4 star rating from ETimes with an official review that reads, “Just like in OMK, Raghavan finds an amazing friend and lover in Keerthi (Anupama Parameswaran), who goes out of her way to keep him happy. But Dragon highlights that sometimes a missed chance is a missed chance. From the rainy nights hinting at a change to second chances and college friendships, both frames and characters remind you of the director’s debut outing, which works organically for his sophomore venture.”
With a few more days of decent box office performance, ‘Dragon’ could achieve this feat before the end of its theatrical run.
