Abhishek Bachchan says that for daughter Aaradhya, he's just a 'parent' at home, not a 'celebrity', reveals equation with Amitabh Bachchan: 'That keeps you sane'

Abhishek Bachchan is now gearing up for the release of his movie ‘Be Happy’. This one sees him as a single parent to a daughter (played by Inaayat Verma). The film is largely a father-daughter movie where he goes to any legnth to fulfill his daughter’s dream of dance. Interestingly, Abhishek’s last movie ‘I Want To Talk’ also dealt with a father-daughter bond. In a recent interview, Abhishek has revealed that while for him the emotions of being a father are universal as he himself has a daughter. However, many things change depending on the script.
The actor said in a chat with Hindustan Times, “The emotions are universal, but you have to understand the character’s world and psyche. And the wonderfully written script helps there.”
He further spoke about how at home, he’s not a celebrity but just a father and that helps him stay grounded. “I have a 13-year-old so you know. What’s nice and refreshing is that at home, you’re a parent. You’re a professional or a celebrity, just a parent. I don’t look upon it as a reality check but something nice because that love is coming from a genuine place, and not because of what you do,” he said.
Abhishek got married to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in 2007. Their daughter Aaradhya was born in 2011.
Abhishek also had the same equation with his father Amitabh Bachchan while growing up and it’s the same even now. “I have done the same thing with my father. He was always dad at home. He wasn’t Mr Amitabh Bachchan. That he was outside the gates. That’s very nice and it keeps you sane,” said the actor.
‘Be Happy’ directed by Remo D’souza is set for release on March 14.
