Artistes from across Mumbai take to the steps of Bandra | Events Movie News
St Stephen’s Steps at Bandra recently lit up with performances from artistes across the city. The festival included an art and pet corner, a poetry workshop, street plays, song and dance performances and a fashion show.
Neha Aurora, who runs a pop-up children’s library said, “Children from diverse backgrounds, languages, ages and interests assembled on our mats to read, to recommend, to share stories and simply laugh with one another.” Sameer Ansari, in charge of the roller sports area, said, “Unlike team sports, it allows for free-form, self-directed practice in various environments. It also fosters a strong sense of community, with skaters supporting each
other’s growth.”
Making a case for sustainable fashion
Filmmaker and designer Joy Bimal Roy, presented a fashion show on upcycled saris and sustainable fashion. He said, “We planned the show very last minute. So the only planning involved was getting accessories for the women. I have always been interested in both films and fashion, I think they are connected. The models fell into place, they are all my friends, some of whom have modelled for me before. My father, Bimal Roy, was very stylish, he dressed in monochrome blacks, whites, greys and browns. And I draw a lot of inspiration from him.”
