‘Border 2’ starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Diljit Dosanjh had a good opening at the box office and the film has continued to maintai a strong hold at maintained its strong momentum at the box office, earning Rs 5.25 crore nett on its second Monday. This marks a near 50% dip compared to the second Friday, a trend that has become fairly standard owing to the growing impact of discounted Tuesdays. A section of the weekday audience has now adapted to watching films on Tuesdays because of lower ticket prices, and even when discounts aren’t officially announced, Tuesdays tend to perform steadily.Border 2 Movie ReviewThe made Rs 59 crore on Republic day which was a Monday, and subsequently started seeing a decline in the numbers thereafter. The film had a week 1 collection of around Rs 224.25 crore. After that, on second Friday, it continued its hold at the box office despite the release of ‘Mardaani 3’. The film starring Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty among others made Rs 10.75 crore on second Friday, Rs 17.75 crore on second Saturday and Rs 22.5 crore on second Sunday. This was a growth from the weekday numbers of last week. Now on Monday, the decline is quite natural. But the film has seen a drop in numbers by a huge margin. On Second Monday, it saw a dip again and made Rs 5.75 crore. On Tuesday, the film has started on a slow note and made Rs 0.7 crore till afternoon. The total collection is now Rs 281.7 crore.
While Border 2 has not opted for a full-fledged discounted Tuesday, ticket prices are still lower than a regular weekday, which is expected to give the film an added push. So far, the movie has collected around Rs 52 crore nett in its second week and is on track to close week two at approximately Rs 65 crore nett. This would mark a solid follow-up to its excellent first-week performance.Region-wise, the film continues to dominate in North India. Delhi/UP is set to cross the Rs 70 crore nett mark, while East Punjab stands at around ₹35 crore nett. The film is projected to wrap up its North India run at roughly Rs 135 crore nett — a clear BLOCKBUSTER outcome. In contrast, Mumbai/Gujarat has delivered numbers that fall in the HIT range, though further growth appears challenging despite minimal competition over the next four to six weeks. The relatively weaker territories for the film remain West Bengal and Nizam/Andhra.
