Palamu cop shoots reel with wife in police station on R-Day, shunted | Ranchi News
Daltonganj: The officer-in-charge of Hussainabad police station was on Wednesday removed for making social media reels on duty and in uniform with his wife on Republic Day. Inspector Sonu Kumar Choudhary was attached to the district police line until further orders after his videos, shot on the police station campus on R-Day, went viral on social media outlets and kicked up a row.Choudhary, shunted on grounds of indiscipline, was replaced with Chandan Kumar. Palamu SP Reeshma Rameshan issued the order. “Disciplinary action was initiated by the DIG, Palamu range, Kishore Kaushal after the reel went viral,” she said.In the video which went viral, Choudhary was seen filming on the police station premises. He was in uniform and on duty when he made reels of his wife in the police station. He even put his official cap on her head.“These are all acts of indiscipline and misconduct. No police officer in uniform has any liberty to do all these,” SP said.Making reels or filming in the police station is prohibited, and when a police officer, especially when the concerned fellow is the officer in charge and of Inspector rank, was found headlong plunged into such indiscipline, then it is punishable, said police sources.Sources said Choudhury not only made reels but also allegedly uploaded them on social media.
