Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan started shooting for their action comedy in mid-2024. The first schedule happened in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. At that time, everything was going fine. The team finished that schedule by late 2024. After that, the shooting stopped. Since then, the cameras have not rolled again.The film was supposed to release in the first half of 2026. But now that plan looks unclear. It has been more than a year since the last shoot. The film is co-produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga Kapoor. Even with big names involved, the project has not moved forward.
The team wants to restart work
People close to the film say that everyone wants to continue shooting. The actors are ready. The crew is also ready. But no one knows when the shoot will restart. A report in Mid Day states, “It is a quirky, fun story. Everything was on track when the team began shooting the first schedule in mid-2024 in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. But after that, the movie, which was to release in the first half of 2026, has been stuck for over a year. The actors and the crew are keen to resume filming, but there’s no clarity on when the project will return to floors.”
Theater or OTT is the big question
The main problem is about how the film should be released. At first, the makers planned a theater release. Later, talks started about releasing it on an OTT platform. This discussion has been going on for many months. The report further shared, “There have been discussions about whether it should take the web route and be released as an OTT original. The talks have been going on for months, while the shoot has been on hold.”The producers are not able to agree on one plan. Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment are thinking again. Because of this, the shooting is still paused, reportedly.
The film still has no title
Even now, the film does not have a title. It is still called an untitled action comedy. The film is directed by a debutant Aakash Kaushik. He is already known for writing ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.’ Many people were excited to see his first directorial work.With Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan together, fans expected something fun and fresh.
