As per a report by 123Telugu, the makers are ready to reveal the film’s official release date. The date is said to match the festival of Sri Rama Navami. The film is said to be planned for a theatrical release on April 9, 2027. The team is now expected to share a special update on March 26, 2026. This date is also linked with Sri Rama Navami, which makes the update feel more special.
Characters and powerful teaser of ‘Varanasi’
The teaser of the film, where Mahesh Babu’s character was revealed, was a grand “Globetrotter” event held in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad on November 15. The teaser of ‘Varanasi’ showed Mahesh Babu as Rudhra. He was seen holding a trishul, covered in blood, and riding a bull. Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays Mandakini in the film. Prithviraj plays the villain named Kumbha. Their first look posters were released earlier and got a strong response. The music is composed by MM Keeravani, and the story is written by V Vijayendra Prasad.
‘Varanasi’ teaser screened in Paris
Interestingly, the teaser later created history in Paris. It was screened at the famous Le Grand Rex theatre on January 5. This is the first time an Indian film teaser was shown at this iconic place.
