Samay Raina’s old clip resurfaces amid Mary Kom’s ongoing divorce drama: ‘How can you make biopic on a living person?’ |
Indian Olympic boxer Mary Kom ended her 18 years of marriage with Karung Onkholer (Onler) Kom. Recently, the national-level athlete broke her silence on the divorce and brought forward a side of her marriage, which is very contrasting to her biopic ‘Mary Kom’, released in 2014. In the film, where Priyanka Chopra essayed the lead role, it was shown that Mary’s husband was extremely supportive of her career and took care of the house and children while she made a name for herself. However, Mary’s recent statement painted a totally different picture. Amid all this, comedian Samay Raina’s old remark on making biopics on living personalities has resurfaced. In his video, he didn’t particularly point to any biopic or individual; rather, he simply pointed out how future developments in a person’s life can completely ruin the narrative in the biopic.

The said video is a part of Samay’s script from one of his ‘Comicstan’ performances. He sarcastically shares, “Wait kro, patience hi nahi hai, yar India me. Aj kal dekho kisi bhi bande par biopic ban rahi hai, which is not a bad thing; it’s great. Lekin jo banda zinda hai, uspar tum biopic kese bna skte ho (Please wait, there’s no patience in India. Today, they are making a biopic on anyone, which is not a bad thing, it’s great. But how can you make a biopic on a living person).”Raina then added, what if the same person makes a big blunder in the coming years of his life. This statement by Samay Raina has reappeared on the internet amid Mary Kom and Karaung Onkholer’s divorce row and public spat.
Mary Kom’s statement on Karaung Onkholer
Recently, Mary Kom, during her ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ appearance, shared that her ex-husband cheated on her. She accused him of money fraud as well. In a statement that is now going viral, she said he had no successful career: “He used to play football in the streets. To tell you the truth, he was not even earning a rupee. What sacrifice has he made? He used to sleep the whole day.” The wrestler added, “He was living on a girl’s earnings. I felt sad. I was earning so much, all my beliefs and trust. Later, I found that he was cleaning up my bank accounts. Onkholer, on the other hand, has denied all accusations and called out Mary Kom for public humiliation.
