Director Vir Das recently revealed how Imran came on board the project in the most unexpected way.Recalling the moment, Vir said, “One day, I got a text from Imran. He doesn’t even use WhatsApp.” He added, “The message said, ‘Hey, I hear the movie is shaping up nicely. Can I come and do something fun in the film?’”Later, Vir shared a screenshot of their 2024 chat on Instagram and wrote, “True story! We thought of the maddest thing and made Imran do it in #HappyPatel. January 16th, you get to see him, and I can’t wait! This is the actual screenshot from Feb 2024.”He further revealed that he reworked the script to create a wild, never-seen-before role for Imran.
