BIS organises industry meet in JSR | Ranchi News
Jamshedpur: On the occasion of the 79th Foundation Day of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the BIS Jamshedpur branch office organized an industry cum licensee meet on Jan 13.The programme was aimed at creating awareness among manufacturers and licensees about BIS certification, licensing requirements, operation of licences, compliance with mandatory Indian standards, new certification schemes and recent initiatives of BIS.The meet also sought to strengthen coordination and interaction between BIS, industry stakeholders, and representatives of state and central government departments.The programme focused on engaging industries that have not yet obtained BIS certification, as well as newly licensed manufacturers.More than 100 representatives from various industries participated in the event, reflecting strong industry interest and engagement.Speaking on the occasion, Kunal Kumar, director, BIS Jamshedpur branch, said that in the last year alone, BIS Jamshedpur granted 120 licences, and currently more than 750 licences covering around 170 products are operational under its jurisdiction.
