The Telugu film, written and directed by Anil Ravipudi, features Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara in the lead roles. The film is a packed entertainer, with comedy, drama, songs, and more. The film revolves around a national security officer who is trying his best to reunite with his estranged wife and kids. The film also features Venkatesh Daggubati and Catherine Tresa in key roles, and has hit the big screens on January 12.

Planning for an evening show with your friends’ gang? How about a horror comedy? This genre has a fan-following on its own, and when Prabhas himself is leading the show, how can one say no? Directed by Maruthi, the Telugu film features Prabhas in the lead role, while actors Malavika Mohanan, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, and veteran Zarina Wahab will be seen in some pivotal roles. TOI has ranked the film 2.5, and the review reads, “The film’s attempt to explore a genre rarely touched in mainstream Telugu cinema is commendable, and its fantasy-driven concept holds promise.” The Prabhas starrer hit the theatres on January 9.

Are you someone who appreciates cinema that reflects society? Well, then Sudha Kongara’s ‘Parasakthi’ featuring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role. Set in the 1960s in Tamil Nadu, the film revolves around two brothers as resistance to Hindi imposition sweeps the nation. The resistance drama has won the hearts of cinephiles, with TOI ranking it 3.5. “Parasakthi is nowhere near flawless. But it’s a powerful and ambitious attempt to capture a defining chapter in history. In every sense, the film wears its politics on its sleeve and brings in an emotional heft,” the review reads.
Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil
Jiiva starrer ‘Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil’, which was scheduled to hit the theatres later this month, is preponed to January 19. ‘Thalaivar Thambi Thalaimaiyil’, directed by Nithish Sahadev, is touted to be a wholesome entertainer. The makers earlier dropped a teaser, which hints that the film captures a comedy of errors. Jiiva takes charge of a wedding; however, what follows is pure chaos.
Pennu Case
