Actress Parvathy Thiruvothu has bravely recounted a distressing experience during the 2013 Tamil film ‘Maryan’ shoot. She felt isolated and vulnerable during a waterlogged romantic scene, lacking basic necessities like a change of clothes and support. Parvathy revealed she had to resort to a personal announcement to be allowed to change, highlighting the lack of female presence on set.

She spoke about what happened during the shooting of the Tamil film ‘Maryan’. The film released in 2013 and had Dhanush in the lead role. Parvathy spoke about this in an interview with Hauterrfly and shared how she felt helpless at that time.

What happened during the sea shoot

Parvathy said the incident happened during a sea shoot for ‘Maryan’. There was a scene where she was fully soaked in water. It was a romantic scene with the hero. She said she did not even have extra clothes to change into.

The ‘Take Off’ actress also said there was no one on the set to look after her needs. She felt alone and ignored. When the shoot went on she reached a point where she could not manage anymore. She decided she had to change her clothes to feel safe and comfortable.Parvathy shared exactly what she told them. She said, “I did a Tamil film called ‘Maryan’. There was a scene where I was completely drenched in water and it was a romantic scene with the hero. I had not brought clothes to change. There was no one to take care of my needs. At one point I had to say that I needed to go to my hotel room to change. When they said it was not possible I loudly said that I was on my periods and that I needed to go. They had no idea how to react to that.”

Only three women on the set

Parvathy also shared another important detail. She said that on the ‘Maryan’ set that day there were only three women in total including her. She said this made things even harder for her. She felt there was no support system around her.Earlier in 2021 when ‘Maryan’ completed eight years Parvathy had shared on social media, “How @arrahman spun his magic into this choir song! @bharatbala 8 years of Maryan! Cheers!”
