BENGALURU: Investigation into the murder of Bhuvaneshwari, allegedly shot dead by her husband Balamuragan on Magadi Road last month, has thrown up more facts: the accused had hired a habitual offender from Salem, Tamil Nadu, to carry out the killing. Police said Balamuragan paid Rs 1.5 lakh as advance to the man, who was facing earlier cases of murder and burglary.Police have arrested Moulesh Kumar, 25, for his alleged role. Though he did not execute the killing, Kumar visited Bengaluru, conducted a recce, and allegedly advised Balamuragan on how to carry out the act in areas without CCTV coverage.An investigating officer said Balamuragan came in contact with Kumar while searching for “rowdies” on a social media platform. “Kumar demanded Rs 1.5 lakh, claiming he would shoot the victim, but later delayed and sought more money. Believing he would not follow through, Balamuragan carried out the act himself,” the officer said.Kumar, who had earlier been lodged in Salem prison in ahouse burglary case, was brought to Bengaluru on a body warrant for further questioning by city police.
