An old podcast clip featuring New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is making the rounds again, and this time, it lands differently. The resurfaced comments, originally recorded in 2021, show Dart openly discussing attempts to DM pop star Madison Beer. The clip reappeared online this week, years later, as Beer is now publicly dating Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.
Old ‘Momentum podcast’ clip from 2021 resurfaces online
The clip was reposted on Jan. 5 by the X account “The Giant Topic,” reviving comments Jaxson Dart made on the “Momentum Podcast” on July 30, 2021. During the episode, Dart spoke candidly about his interest in Beer and his attempts to message her online.“I’ve tried to do a couple things to Madison Beer, 100% my biggest celeb crush. she’s an artist and she’s just like a public figure,” Dart said. The host then asked how Dart went about messaging her. Dart explained that Miami Dolphins quarterback Zach Wilson sent him a SpongeBob meme of a character waving inside the Krusty Krab. Dart said he used the meme to start the conversation.“But I mean, we’re gonna keep shooting. Shoot or shoot,” Dart said. The host joked about sending the message again weekly.“Just once a week, keep deleting it and resending it,” the host said.“Yeah, I have,” Dart replied. When Dart made those comments in 2021, he was a freshman quarterback at USC. Madison Beer, at the time, was releasing her debut album Life Support, which included tracks such as “Selfish,” “Good in Goodbye,” “Baby,” and “Boyshit.”The timing matters now because Beer is currently dating Justin Herbert. The pair confirmed their relationship publicly in October.Dart’s comments are not new, but their resurfacing comes amid heightened attention on Herbert’s personal life and Dart’s rising NFL profile. Dart is now dating influencer and model Marissa Ayers. Before Ayers, he was in a relationship with Lola Sexton.
Fake Instagram story adds fuel to the online noise
This is not the first time Dart has been pulled into online chatter involving Beer. On Sept. 27, a fake Instagram Story attributed to Dart went viral on X after being shared by an account called “NFL Drop.” The image showed a photo of Beer with the caption “Gameday tomorrow.”The post reached six million views before it was widely identified as fabricated. The timing of that viral post coincided with the Giants’ Week 4 matchup against the Chargers on Sept. 28.Jaxson Dart’s on-field rise continues despite off-field buzzThe resurfaced clip has not affected Dart’s standing inside the Giants organization. In that Week 4 game against Los Angeles, Dart was named the starting quarterback, replacing Russell Wilson. He led New York to a 21-18 upset win, marking the Giants’ first victory of the season.Dart later finished his rookie campaign with 12 starts, completing 63.7% of his passes and accounting for 24 total touchdowns. Fifteen came through the air, while nine were on the ground. His teammates have publicly backed him as the franchise’s future.“He has a phenomenal like, people call it aura now,” Malik Nabers said. “But when we mesh, we always vibe, have good conversations, and talk about what we want in the near future.”
