More about the clash

Thalapathy Vijay’s final film, ‘Jana Nayagan’, before he enters politics full-fledgedly, is set to arrive in theaters on January 9, 2026. On the other hand, Sivakarthikeyan’s movie, ‘Parsakthi’, will arrive in cinemas on January 10, 2026.During the audio launch of his film, Sivakarthikeyan had addressed the clash, saying, “He had attempted to postpone his film’s release date; however, it would be released as planned, and that they have discussed it with Vijay on the same.”At the pre-release event, he added, “We first thought of releasing ‘Parasakthi’ during Diwali 2025, but by then the ‘Jana Nayagan’ team had already fixed that date. So we dropped the idea and continued working on our film with Pongal in mind. Later, when the ‘Jana Nayagan’ team also shifted their release to Pongal, I was really shocked.”SK also revealed that he had reached out to Vijay’s team over the clash. He shared that the team told him, “He told me that Vijay sir believes that since it’s Pongal, both films have enough space to release and will not affect each other at the box office. Sir also conveyed his best wishes for ‘Parasakthi’.”He urged everyone to go and watch ‘Jana Nayagan’ on January 9 and then enjoy ‘Parasakthi’ on January 10. He said, “We are talking about a man who has entertained us for 33 years. After that, on January 10, come to the theaters, watch Parasakthi, and celebrate that as well.”
