Nita Ambani inaugurates cancer and dialysis centre ‘Jeevan’ as a tribute to her father Ravindrabhai Dalal
Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, inaugurated a new medical wing, Jeevan, at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai this week. The ceremony was attended by her sister, Purnima Dalal, and her mother, Mamta Dalal. Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries Limited, was also present along with other family members.

The new centre is a tribute dedicated to Nita Ambani’s late father, Ravindrabhai Dalal. Speaking at the launch, she shared a personal reflection on the values that shaped the initiative. “Jeevan is my dedication as a daughter to my father. Papa taught me that seva is the highest form of worship,” she said. This inauguration coincides with the hospital’s 10th anniversary of service. Reflecting on the journey, Nita Ambani stated, “Ten years ago, we began with a vision to make world-class healthcare affordable and accessible to every Indian.” Over the last decade, the institution has treated 3.3 million patients, including 1.6 million children.

The new facility expands upon this legacy by bringing together advanced oncology services, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, alongside a specialised dialysis unit under one roof. The centre is supported by a round-the-clock critical care unit to ensure constant patient monitoring and safety.A key highlight of Jeevan is the specialised paediatric chemotherapy ward. Nita Ambani described this area as being very close to her heart. To reduce the anxiety often associated with hospitals, the ward features child-friendly interiors with vibrant wall art depicting animals and nature, creating a warm and welcoming environment for young patients.

Addressing the gathering, Nita Ambani spoke about the emotional weight carried by parents of children facing critical illnesses. “Every mother, every father who walks through these doors carries a weight no parent should ever have to bear. And every child who goes through this treatment is a brave little warrior,” she stated. The facility is designed to provide not just medical treatment but a space that prioritizes the dignity and comfort of every family. The opening of Jeevan adds a crucial layer of critical care infrastructure to the city, reinforcing the hospital’s commitment to providing affordable and high-quality medical services.
