AI has revealed the ‘perfect’ baby name: Would you actually use it?
Jack and Jill are actually going down the hill as rising high in the baby-naming sky is a name that is unique and meaningful. But there’s one surprise, it has been picked by AI. The depths and layers of artificial intelligence are being created and discovered day by day. From becoming one’s unpaid therapist to another’s baby shower planner, AI has been doing it all. Now, it seems it has also delved into the tumultuous yet exciting field of baby-naming and if its suggestions are to go by, it might be an expert here as well.
AI reveals the ‘perfect’ baby name
According to AI, the perfect baby name is Elara. The Greek-inspired, vowel-forward name is popular among chatbots, AI stories and even math workbooks. Short, sweet and unique, it ticks all the boxes. But it has been suggested by an algorithm and thus the question arises: Would you actually use it?According to naming expert Laura Watternberg, yes. In a recent viral post, the expert on patterns, data and cultural shifts declared the name as the must-have baby name of 2025. “Elara is an extremely rare name in the human world. In the world of generative AI… the name is a smash hit,” Wattenberg wrote.
Moms love the name
While an AI-suggested name could have the motherly shackled up, Elara is actually a name mothers have been stanning for a while, long before AI put the cool tag on it. “Good friends of mine have a 3-year-old named Elara Iris. It’s a pretty name. I had never heard it before,” wrote a person on Reddit. “Adore it! I think it sounds really pretty and has great international appeal,” added another. “I love Elara! And I feel like it’s associations with Greek mythology and the moon of Jupiter could make for fun nursery decor,” added an excited commentator.
Elara: the Greek and celestial connection
In Greek mythology, Elara was a mortal princess, the daughter of King Orchomenus in central Greece. She was one of the lovers of Zeus, the King of the Olympian gods. In order to hide her pregnancy from his jealous wife Hera, Zeus hid Elara deep beneath the Earth where she gave birth to their son, a giant called Tityas. Additionally, Elara is also the eighth-largest moon of Jupiter. It was discovered on January 5th, 1905 by Charles Dillon Perrince, as per the NASA website. While the AI world might be a big fan of the name, it is yet to gain prominence in the real world. However, with the way humans have been slowly but gradually opening up to AI, babies named Elara might not be as rare in the future.
