Patna schools organise annual events; festive spirit marks gatherings

Patna: St Joseph’s Convent High School buzzed with nostalgia and joy on Sunday as the Alumnae Association of Josephites (AAJ) hosted its annual meet under the theme “Melody of Memories”. Principal Sr Josephine, along with the senior-most alumnae, lit the traditional lamp to inaugurate the programme.The 1975 and 2000 batches were felicitated with gold and silver stars to mark their jubilee years. Ranjana Thakur of the 1971 batch was conferred the Most Committed Alumna of 2025 award. Distinguished alumnae, including Bihar’s first woman IPS officer Manjari Jaruhar, inspired the gathering with their presence. Cultural performances featuring music and dance, interactive games, a ramp walk by different batches and shared meals strengthened bonds and camaraderie among former students.X-mas celebration: Carmel High School celebrated Christmas with deep spiritual fervour. Organised by Class VI students, the programme opened with a prayer service expressing devotion and gratitude to Lord Jesus. A prayer dance spread a message of peace, followed by a play on the birth of Jesus Christ highlighting love, sacrifice and humanity. Christmas carols filled the air, while the arrival of Santa Claus delighted the audience and led to a vibrant collective finale. Principal Sr Mridula described Christmas as a festival of love, forgiveness and service, urging students to spread peace and goodwill.Graduation ceremony: Loyola High School hosted the graduation ceremony for the outgoing Class XII batch (2025-26) in an atmosphere of excitement and nostalgia. Mementos were presented to graduating students as a mark of remembrance. Performances by junior students added colour to the event, while the ‘Dance Drama’ choir energised the gathering. A presentation showcasing academic milestones evoked fond memories. Principal Rev Bro Johnson V George addressed the students, offering guidance for their future journeys.Fancy dress competition: Students from Nursery to Class V of International School impressed the audience with colourful performances based on themes such as Save Water, Mother India, Artificial Intelligence, Harry Potter, Save Girl Child and Respect Women. Judges Veena Gupta, Amina Hai and Ruby Bhushan awarded prizes. Principal Nahid Alam and admin Subia Hasan said such activities contribute significantly to the overall personality development of students.Annual sports meet: Infant Jesus School organised its annual sports meet to promote discipline, teamwork and a competitive spirit among students of Classes VI to XII. Chief guest Mahendra Kumar, director, sports department, and special guest Sanjeev Kumar Tandon, managing director of SBPDCL, attended the event. Sports displays, karate, yoga, mass drill and gymnastics drew applause. A Class IX student was named best athlete, while Blue House emerged champions.
