Here's why Suriya turned down 'Dhruva Natchathiram' with Gautham Menon

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon recently opened up about his disappointment over Suriya opting out of the highly anticipated Dhruva Natchathiram. Speaking during promotions for his latest film, ‘Dominic’ and the Ladies’ Purse with Mammootty, Gautham Menon shared in an interview with Behindwoods that Suriya’s decision deeply affected him, especially after their successful collaborations on ‘Kaakha Kaakha‘ and ‘Vaaranam Aayiram‘. He revealed that despite his repeated assurances to Suriya about the film’s potential, the actor had reservations about the narrative and his role, ultimately declining the project. The interview went viral as netizens mocked Suriya over his disbelief in Gautham Menon.
According to Valai Pechu, here’s the reason behind Suriya turning down ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’. Gautham Menon failed to submit the full script of ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ when Suriya teamed up with the director for the spy thriller, and he waited more than six months for the development without signing any new films. But Gautham Menon didn’t submit the full script as asked by Suriya, and it made the actor step out of the film.
Gautham Menon then opted to team up with Chiyaan Vikram for ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ and the spy thriller kick-off production in 2016. Despite facing delays due to financial and logistical hurdles, the production team has remained committed to completing the project. The film’s teaser and promotional materials have garnered immense excitement, showcasing Vikram in a suave and enigmatic avatar. Fans eagerly await the release, hoping it will live up to its ambitious premise and Gautham Menon’s signature storytelling, and the long-delayed film is likely to be released in a few months.
