VinFast VF 7 India launch soon: Here’s everything about its unique design

VinFast India is all set to launch the VinFast 7 electric SUV in the Indian market soon. The company recently showcased the e-SUV at the Bharat Mobility Expo and is expected to be launched sometime in the second half of 2025. Ahead of its launch, the company has revealed the design highlights of the electric SUV. Vinfast says that the VF 7 electric SUV is designed not just for performance but also for an emotional bond with its driver. A recent OnePoll survey in the United States revealed that nearly two-fifths of drivers talk to their cars, while 60 per cent consider them part of the family. Vinfast says that it has embraced this philosophy in the VF 7 which is developed in collaboration with Torino Design, Italy.

“VF 7 was born to keep the soul of a concept car alive in a passenger vehicle,” said Paolo Smeriglio, Head of Project Management at Torino Design. The VF 7’s design follows an “Asymmetric Aerospace” theme, drawing inspiration from space and aviation. It features a hood that slopes downward, giving it a streamlined, spaceship-like appearance, while dynamic creases run along the doors. It also uses triangular motifs throughout the design echoing the sleek forms of modern aircraft, while the vehicle’s rear is sculpted for optimal aerodynamics. The rounded front corners smooth airflow, while a low-profile hood seamlessly transitions into the windshield, reducing wind resistance. The sloping roofline extends to an elongated spoiler, channelling air to minimize turbulence behind the car. It also has hidden door handles and a concealed rear wiper.

It terms of features, it gets a dual-tone theme with brown and black accents. The Eco variant gets a 12.9-inch infotainment screen, whereas the Plus variant features a larger 15-inch display. Both variants get features such as a head-up display, over-the-air update capability, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and a panoramic sunroof.
Talking about the battery and e-motor, the Eco variant features a single electric motor which puts out 201bhp and 310Nm of torque. The Plus variant gets dual motors with 349bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. Both variants come paired with a 75.3kWh battery pack, the Eco variant has a claimed range of 450km, and the Plus variant has a claimed range of 431 km on one full charge.
