Tamil Nadu: ED conducts searches at 15 locations in Chennai, Kancheepuram over foreign exchange violation | Chennai News
CHENNAI: Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials have carried out searches at 15 locations in Chennai and Kancheepuram, targeting various businessmen since Wednesday morning. The searches are underway in Kilpauk, KK Nagar, Saidapet, MGR Nagar, and several other areas in Kancheepuram. The targeted premises are being guarded by CRPF personnel. The businessmen involved are reportedly from the steel and jewellery sectors, sources said. The ED has not officially disclosed the reason for the searches. However, sources indicated that they are linked to alleged violations of the Foreign Exchange Act. At least three ED officials have been stationed at each targeted premise.
