Pasighat police summit showcases cutting-edge security innovations | Guwahati News
Dibrugarh: Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) on Saturday convened the 2nd Police Technology Summit in Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, creating a convergence point for law enforcement officials, technological innovators and policymakers.Organised under the ministry of home affairs and supported by AIC-RRU Incubation Foundation, the summit addressed critical areas, including smart policing, artificial intelligence applications, Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), drone technologies, predictive policing and cybercrime prevention.Police personnel from Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Sikkim participated in the event, alongside central armed police forces, including Assam Rifles, BSF, NSG, NDRF and SSB. Officials from specialised agencies such as the NIA, CBI, CFSL, NCB and NEPA also particpated in the event.Arunachal Pradesh MP Tapir Gao, local MLA Tapi Darang and CRPF inspector general, too, attended the summit.Addressing the gathering, Darang highlighted the importance of strengthening grassroots policing infrastructure and developing innovative safety frameworks. The innovations spanned from design engineering, quantum research to geo-sensing and IoT-enabled safety systems, showcasing India’s capabilities in hazard detection and real-time monitoring.Artificial intelligence demonstrations featured full-stack AI platforms, vision recognition systems, facial identification technology and multimodal surveillance solutions, which looks to transform investigative methodologies.Throughout the summit cybersecurity remained a focal point, with exhibitors demonstrating advanced capabilities in digital forensics, cryptocurrency tracking and fraud analytics.
