Two major stars injured on WWE RAW before Royal Rumble including a Hall of Famer | WWE News

The go-home edition of WWE Monday Night RAW for the Royal Rumble 2026 Premium Live Event was an exciting episode, but turned into somewhat nightmare for two top stars. It included WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio and current WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer during their in-ring showdowns.Mysterio was scheduled to battle The Vision’s member, Austin Theory, in a singles match. During a spot, Mysterio injured himself, which was revealed when he was favoring his shoulder, and the referee did the X signal to indicate the injury . Moreover, during the post-match beatdown by The Vision, The Master of the 619 remained on the apron as medical personnel examined him. He was helped to the back by the medical team later on. A follow-up report by Bryan Alvarez of FWOnline confirmed that the injury was legitimate. Apart from that, it seemed that Stephanie Vaquer may have tweaked her ankle during the scheduled six-woman tag team match on RAW. As she brawled with Raquel Rodriguez in the backstage area, there was visible discomfort for Vaquer in walking, hinting at an injury. While both competitors were advertised for the Royal Rumble PLE, it remains to be seen what is next following the injury scare on RAW.

WWE RAW before Royal Rumble featured a dream match

While it was unfortunate that this week’s edition of RAW saw two injuries, a major highlight of the show was a dream match. It saw the first-ever major collision between AJ Styles and CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event. With Styles putting his career on the line against Gunther at the Royal Rumble, Punk made the choice to have the match on RAW itself. The match was a spectacular showdown as it captivated the audience throughout the match. However, it did not come to any conclusion as Finn Balor ran interference and Punk won the match by DQ. He then launched a beatdown on Punk, possibly due to his frustrations of losing to him in their title match last week.
