Urvashi Rautela addresses criticism surrounding her 'Dabidi Dibidi' song with Nandamuri Balakrishna: 'We didn't realise it would be...'

Urvashi Rautela recently starred with Nandamuri Balakrishna in Daaku Maharaaj, which did well at the box office. However, the song Dabidi Dibidi from the film faced a lot of criticism for its choreography.
In conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Urvashi explained that Dabidi Dibidi was created specifically for Balayya’s fans, with every lyric and move designed to match their expectations. She shared that during rehearsals, everything went smoothly, just like any other song she had worked on. Having collaborated with Master Shekar multiple times before, she felt comfortable with the choreography. However, she admitted that the reaction to the song was unexpected, as everything seemed fine during practice.

Urvashi was surprised by the reaction to the song, calling it a fun and energetic track. She and the team hadn’t expected such feedback, as they initially thought it would be well-received. While she has read different opinions, she focuses on staying passionate and not letting criticism affect her enthusiasm.

When asked if she would be more careful about choreography in the future, Urvashi Rautela responded that her dance moves were quite simple and there was nothing wrong with them. She added that if viewers focused only on her performance, they would see that it was actually impressive.
The song Dabidi Dibidi, composed by S Thaman, faced backlash for its ‘cringe’ and ‘vulgar’ choreography. In the video, Nandamuri Balakrishna is seen tapping Urvashi Rautela’s belly button to the beat and lifting her by her dress. Later, the 64-year-old actor is also seen hitting her on the hips.

Daaku Maharaaj is a Telugu period action drama directed by Bobby Kolli and produced by Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinemas, and Srikara Studios. The film features Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead, alongside Bobby Deol, Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, Urvashi Rautela, Rishi, Chandini Chowdary, Pradeep Rawat, and Ravi Kishan in key roles.
